The Baseline® BIMS Digital 3-Piece Hand Evaluation Set is an advanced digital hand-assessment system designed for both Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) and Treatment Outcome Measurement.

More than a basic grip dynamometer, the BIMS system combines digital grip, pinch, and finger range-of-motion measurement with seven preset testing protocols and Bluetooth connectivity.

The built-in protocols allow clinicians to move beyond a simple peak grip measurement and perform standardized assessments of strength, effort, consistency, rapid exchange, and fatigue.

Bluetooth capability also provides a platform for future connected assessment workflows, including potential integration with Metriks software and mobile applications as these capabilities are developed.

Seven Preset Testing Protocols

The BIMS Digital Hand Dynamometer includes seven preset protocols, providing testing options for use across rehabilitation, functional assessment, and FCE settings:

• Quick — rapid grip-strength assessment
• General Strength — evaluate general grip-strength performance
• Rapid Exchange — perform alternating rapid grip testing
• Modified Maximum Voluntary Effort (MMVE) — assess grip performance using a modified maximum voluntary effort protocol

For FCE providers, the BIMS system provides objective hand-function measurement along with multiple protocols that can be incorporated into a comprehensive evaluation of an individual's functional abilities.

In addition to conventional grip-strength measurement, protocols including Rapid Exchange, MVE, MMVE, and Fatigue provide additional options for evaluating grip performance during a Functional Capacity Evaluation.

The complete three-piece set also allows the evaluator to measure grip strength, pinch strength, and finger range of motion using digital instruments.

Treatment Outcome Measurement

The same equipment can be used during rehabilitation to establish an objective baseline and repeat standardized measurements throughout a course of treatment.
